The useful answer

The 10L is the lightest, least expensive-to-power starting point in the Arete Two range on published rated input. It makes most sense when the job is one room, a flat or a lighter moisture load—not when the model number is being treated as a promise to collect ten litres every day.

Washable dust filter plus supplied H13 HEPA filter; optional charcoal filter. Air filtration does not remove the need to address a leak, cold bridge, inadequate ventilation or another moisture source.

Transparent energy example

What does 136 W mean in pounds?

At an example electricity rate of 25p/kWh, the published input at 20°C / 60% RH equals about 3.4p per powered hour. Twenty powered hours would be about £0.68.

This is an input calculation, not a bill prediction. A dehumidifier can cycle after reaching its target, and temperature, humidity, fan mode and the moisture source alter runtime. A larger model can also finish a demanding task sooner.

Decision check

Where this model makes sense—and where to pause.

Compare the 10L with the 12L first. They share the same 136 W published input at 20°C / 60% RH, while Meaco publishes higher extraction for the 12L at that same condition. The 10L can still win on purchase price or availability, but energy input alone does not separate them.

On-paper strengths
  • The lowest weight in this four-model range at 10.7 kg.
  • A 35 dB(A) low setting and compact 472 × 319 × 237 mm chassis.
  • Wall-mount compatible with a separately purchased bracket.
  • App control, three fan settings, louvre, laundry mode and continuous drainage.
Check before buying
  • At 10°C / 60% RH, published extraction falls to 1.38 L/day; a cold-room job may suit desiccant technology better.
  • The 2.5-litre tank is smaller than the 20L and 25L tanks.
  • The supplied HEPA filter does not make the appliance a substitute for source control, ventilation or building repairs.
  • Wall bracket and drainage hose are not included.

Exact-model questions

What buyers usually need clarified.

Does the Meaco Arete Two 10L remove 10 litres every day?

No. The model name reflects a rated laboratory condition. Meaco currently publishes 4.19 L/day at 20°C / 60% RH and 1.38 L/day at 10°C / 60% RH, so temperature and humidity materially change collection.

How much does the Arete Two 10L cost to run?

Its published input is 136 W at 20°C / 60% RH. At an example rate of 25p/kWh, that is about 3.4p for each powered hour at that rated input. Actual cost depends on tariff, conditions, fan mode, target and duty cycle.

Can the Arete Two 10L be wall mounted?

Meaco lists the 10L as wall mountable with a separate bracket. Check the wall, fixings, clearances, drainage route and current instructions before installation.
