Better Home Climate is the controller for personal information submitted directly through this website. The site does not require an account, accept comments or add quote enquirers to a mailing list.

Technical information

Our hosting provider may process routine request information required to deliver and secure the website, such as IP address, browser type, requested page and request time. Short-lived, pseudonymous request information may also be used to limit spam and repeated submissions.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics 4 is optional. Its tag is not loaded unless you select “Allow analytics” in our analytics choices. If allowed, it helps us understand visited pages and whether a calculator was started, completed or followed by a quote request. Calculator events may include the calculator name, country, landing page, traffic source and a broad result band. They do not include exact calculator entries, postcode, room dimensions, quote prices, checklist selections, names, phone numbers or email addresses.

Your choice is stored in this browser so we can remember it. Select “Analytics choices” in the footer to change it. Choosing necessary-only disables analytics storage and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this site.

Calculator entries

Heating, cooling, sizing, quote-checklist and running-cost entries are calculated in your browser and are not received merely because you use a calculator. If you separately open and submit a clearly labelled installer-quote form, the form shows the project and contact information that will be sent. For relevant cost calculators, this can include selected project inputs and the broad or calculated estimate so the enquiry can be assessed without making you repeat the same information.

Installer-quote enquiries

If quote requests are available and you choose to submit one, we collect your name, email, phone number, contact preference, installation postcode, relationship to the property, property type and size, desired timeframe, optional project notes, relevant calculator context, the page and estimate band, referral and campaign information, and a record of the consent wording and time.

We use this information to review the request, contact you about it, check location and project fit, prevent duplicate or abusive submissions, identify a suitable installer where available and measure whether the service works. This processing is necessary to take the steps you request and is also based on the explicit permission shown beside the submit button.

Submitting an enquiry does not authorise undisclosed onward sale. If a suitable installer is available, Better Home Climate will identify that business and tell you before sharing your contact details. An installer then acts under its own privacy notice. We may use hosting, database, security and transactional-email providers as processors needed to operate the service.

Unmatched or inactive enquiries are normally deleted within 90 days. Enquiries that are actively handled may be retained for up to 12 months so we can administer the request, consent record, delivery, complaints and commercial reconciliation, unless law or a live dispute requires longer. Duplicate-protection hashes may be retained for the same period without being used to create a user profile.

Installer partnership applications

If you apply for an installer pilot, we collect the company and privacy-notice URLs, partnership contact details, installation types, service areas, registrations, response time, lead capacity, preferred commercial model, price band, exclusions, application source and the consent wording and time. We use this information only to assess, contact and administer a potential commercial relationship. It is stored separately from homeowner enquiries and is not used to send unrelated marketing.

Unsuccessful or inactive partner applications are normally deleted within 12 months. Information needed to administer an active pilot, contract, invoice, complaint or dispute may be retained while that relationship or obligation continues.

Private humidity log

The humidity log stores its readings in this browser only. Better Home Climate does not receive the date, room, temperature, humidity or observation entered into that log. Clearing browser storage may remove the saved log.

Quote-partner links

Some pages may instead offer a clearly identified link to a named quote partner. Following that link does not send your calculator answers or contact information. The partner explains and applies its own privacy practices before collecting anything from you.

Product-link measurement

When a product-specification link is selected, our server records the product identifier, the referring Better Home Climate guide and the time of the click. Our application does not add a name, email address or advertising identifier to this event. The destination website then receives an ordinary web request and applies its own privacy practices.

Your choices and rights

You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of personal information you provided, and you can object to or withdraw consent for future handling. Withdrawal does not undo processing already carried out lawfully. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
