Product testing and partnerships

Pay for the work.
Never the verdict.

Better Home Climate accepts a small number of relevant UK product-testing briefs. Every commercial relationship is disclosed, every conclusion remains ours, and every accepted test starts with a written scope.

DisclosurePayment or a supplied sample is stated clearly.
IndependenceThe brand cannot purchase a positive conclusion.
EvidenceClaims stay inside the conditions actually examined.

What an accepted brief includes

A useful result for the reader—not promotional filler.

The exact scope depends on the product and what can be measured honestly in the available setting. We do not turn a manufacturer specification sheet into a pretend hands-on review.

01

A written test brief

We agree the product, real-home task, conditions, measurements, sample status and intended deliverable before accepting the work.

02

Recorded evidence

The agreed evaluation can include room conditions, plug-level energy, water collected, noise at a fixed distance, usability and original photographs.

03

A disclosed outcome

Any paid or gifted relationship is labelled prominently. Findings include limitations, suitable users and reasons a reader may prefer another option.

Non-negotiable boundaries

What the fee does not buy.

These rules protect the reader, the brand and the usefulness of the finished work.

  1. 01No guaranteed positive verdict, score, recommendation or comparison win.
  2. 02No guaranteed Google indexing, ranking, traffic, sales or affiliate performance.
  3. 03No compulsory dofollow link and no payment for a hidden endorsement.
  4. 04Brands may correct factual errors before publication but cannot rewrite the opinion or suppress supported criticism.
  5. 05Samples must be lawful, safe and suitable for UK domestic power and the agreed setting.
  6. 06Ownership, return shipping and any unusual handling cost must be agreed before dispatch.

Disclosure standard

Incentives are visible, not buried.

A fee, gifted product, loaned sample, affiliate relationship or other material benefit is identified on the relevant content. We do not publish concealed incentivised reviews or present commissioned work as an ordinary unpaid recommendation.

Our operating policy follows current UK guidance that incentivised reviews and endorsements must be honest and transparent. This page describes our editorial policy, not legal advice.

Before you enquire

Clear commercial terms from the start.

What does the £175 starting fee cover?

It covers a tightly defined introductory evaluation of one suitable product in one agreed real-home scenario. Extra products, specialist equipment, extended testing, travel, return freight or a broader commercial asset are scoped separately before work begins.

Does paying guarantee a favourable review?

No. Payment covers agreed testing and production work. It never buys the verdict, a recommendation, a rating, editorial approval or the removal of supported criticism.

Will the commercial relationship be disclosed?

Yes. Payment, a gifted sample, a loaned product, affiliate commission or another material relationship is disclosed clearly on the relevant content.

Can a brand approve the article before publication?

A brand may flag factual errors, safety information and confidential material that was explicitly agreed in advance. Better Home Climate retains the final wording, conclusions and publication decision.

Suitable product?

Send the product page and the job you want evaluated.

We will confirm whether the product fits the site, whether the proposed setup can test it meaningfully, and what the agreed fee covers before any sample is sent.
