The formula
Watts ÷ 1,000 × hours × active load × unit price.
The active-load setting estimates how much of the session the appliance draws its stated power. Use 100% for a conservative upper-bound estimate. A humidity-controlled machine may cycle, but the real percentage depends on the room.
For a measured answer, use a suitable plug-level electricity monitor for the complete task. Compare the same outcome—such as one dry laundry load—not an arbitrary hour.
