Why no single drying-time promise is reliable
A light synthetic load after a fast spin is not comparable with towels after a slower spin. Cold air slows evaporation, crowded rails trap humid boundary layers around fabric, and a small machine may cycle differently from a larger one. Even the definition of dry varies between ready-to-iron and cupboard-dry.
Manufacturer laundry modes control fan and target behaviour; they cannot know the water mass in your clothes. Treat any time claim that omits load, spin, room and finish criteria as an illustration rather than a prediction.
Set up the room for moisture removal
Use the highest spin safe for the fabric, shake items out and leave visible gaps. Place the rack so the appliance's permitted outlet airflow crosses wet surfaces without blocking its inlet or violating manual clearances. Keep doors and windows controlled during the measured run.
A smaller closed room is easier to control than an open-plan floor, but it still needs safe access and appropriate temperature. Do not cover the appliance, drape fabric over it or place it where condensed water or wet laundry can reach electrics.

How to shorten the run honestly
Improve extraction at the washing machine first. Then reduce overlap on the rack, expose thick seams and use the highest useful fan speed while people are not sleeping beside it. Remove fast-drying garments so airflow reaches the remainder.
Adding heat can speed evaporation, but it changes total system energy and may not be necessary. If heating is altered for the test, meter or document it rather than crediting the dehumidifier alone.
Know when the setup is undersized
If room RH remains high, the compressor runs almost continuously and heavy items are still damp after a full day, first check airflow, temperature and the wet mass added. A larger-capacity machine may then be rational for frequent loads.
If RH falls but one folded area stays wet, the limiting factor is fabric exposure rather than extraction capacity. Repositioning the rack is cheaper than replacing the appliance.
