Measure the bedroom before choosing a machine
A single humidity peak cannot establish the required capacity. Record temperature and humidity at bedtime and after waking, then compare the moisture source and recovery. The choices below are a shortlist, not a room-size guarantee.

Compare electricity using the same schedule

Choose the bedroom use case first
There is no single best bedroom dehumidifier for every room. Start with the room temperature and the volume of air the machine must control, then check whether the useful fan setting is tolerable at night.

A decibel number cannot tell you whether you will sleep
Published dB(A) allows a basic comparison only when the setting and measurement method are comparable. Compressor starts, fan tone, vibration against floorboards and sudden control beeps can be more disturbing than a steady broadband sound with the same number.
Our eventual bedroom test will record sound at a fixed distance on each useful setting, note tonal peaks and check whether displays and alerts remain dark and quiet overnight.
Size for the actual overnight pattern
People add moisture by breathing while the bedroom cools, so RH commonly rises overnight. Log temperature and humidity at bedtime, through the night and after waking. Check condensation and recovery time after the door opens.
A small machine may control one closed room; a larger unit may be justified when the door stays open and connected spaces contribute moisture. Do not expect a bedroom appliance to repair a cold bridge or leak.
The litre label is not normal-bedroom output. Meaco publishes 4.19 litres per day for the 10L and 8.50 for the 20L at 20°C / 60% RH; at 10°C / 60% RH those figures fall to 1.38 and 3.35. They are manufacturer test-condition figures, not promises about your room. The chooser's heated/cold categories are editorial screening examples, not manufacturer operating limits.

Placement matters before night mode
Keep all manual clearances around the inlet and outlet. A hard floor can transmit vibration; an improvised soft mat can obstruct airflow or violate the manual, so use only a stable arrangement allowed by the manufacturer. Do not position the unit where it blocks an exit or where bedding can cover it.

What changes this recommendation
Choose a different category if the room regularly falls below 10°C, if the machine must serve several open rooms, or if continuous drainage is essential. Severe condensation despite ordinary room humidity suggests a surface-temperature or building issue rather than insufficient machine capacity.
Light sleepers should buy only with a workable return route until sound can be assessed in their own room. Hearing a product in a shop rarely reproduces bedroom acoustics at night.
